Additional international treble headers for UEFA in March and September to catch up and to fit in all World Cup qualifiers.

Five subs for all UEFA club and international tournaments for rest of 2020-21.

22-31 March, 2021 - 3 dates

4-12 Oct - 2 dates
8-16 Nov - 2 dates
21-29 March 2022 - 2 dates (World Cup playoffs)

UEFA Nations League finals will be on 6-7 October with the final and third-place on 10 October.

UEFA also confirms COVID rules for the UCL and UEL group stage.

1) If a match cannot be staged by the home team, a suitable alternative venue must be proposed. If the match cannot go ahead/reschedule, the home team will forfeit 3-0

2) If the visiting club cannot travel to the hosting club's country, the home club must propose a suitable alternative venue, or UEFA will make a ruling.

If either clubs refuses to play at this venue, that team shall forfeit 3-0.

3) In all cases, the clubs may agree - subject to UEFA’s approval - on a venue reversal or on a neutral venue provided that no restrictions apply and no city or stadium clash is caused.

4) If a club fails to inform the UEFA administration of any existing restrictions that affect the organisation of a match and as a consequence the match cannot take place or be rescheduled, the club in question will forfeit 3-0.

Testing and player eligibility

1) If one or more players or officials test positive the match goes ahead unless the national/local authorities place the entire team to into quarantine.

If at least 13 players on the A list (one keeper) are available, the match must go ahead.

If less than 13 players registered on the A list or no registered goalkeeper are available, UEFA may allow a rescheduling.

Alternatively, the club may field players who have not been registered with UEFA within the deadline.

If a game cannot be rescheduled, then the team with positive tests will forfeit the game 3-0.

The UEFA administration may reschedule matches to allow the group stage to be completed accordingly.

***All group stage matches must be played by 28 January***

If, for any reason, the UCL or UCL group stage cannot be completed, the UEFA Executive Committee will decide on the principles for determining the clubs qualified for the knockout rounds.

That 28 January deadline is interesting for sure.

Euro 2020 playoff matches

UEFA says that if the games cannot be played in October and November this year due to positive tests (less than 13 players) they may be rearranged as late as the May-June 2021 window before the start of the Euro 2021.

So no automatic forfeit there.

And the match schedule for World Cup qualifying is confirmed.

UEFA Nations League finalists will be in a group of 5 teams and will play the finals on MD7 and MD8 of WCQ.

In March and September, when three matches are played during the same week of football, a national team would typically play on Wednesday-Saturday-Tuesday or on Thursday-Sunday-Wednesday.
