What is the ideal length for your dress pants?
Answer:
It depends...
First, most guys wear dress pants that are too baggy.
Not only baggy through the seat/thigh but also too baggy in the length causing an excessive amount of fabric to pool at the ankles.
Avoid this look.
When it comes to appropriate length you have a range of fits to choose from depending on your taste/aesthetic.

What length do a I prefer?
I like a *very slight* break on my trousers. Not quite a no break and not quite a slight break. Sort of in between the two.
Like this:
One thing to consider is your build/frame.
Thinner guys tend to look better in very slim fit trousers with minimal break.
Heavier set/broad framed men can carry a full cut trouser with more break a lot better.
This doesn't mean that big, muscular guys can't wear slimmer fit trousers with less break.
Dwayne Johnson is a good example.
His stylist certainly got the memo on dialing in the length of his trousers.
Now, can you go too short with the length?
Absolutely.
The extreme no break - this used to be quite popular in menswear several years ago (and you still see some guys doing it today).
I don't recommend this look.
If you're unsure about what length/break you should go with I recommend sticking to a slight break.
It'll flatter most men and it's a nice balance between being too trendy and too classic/stuffy.
