I mostly agree, particularly re decreased engagement by MEPs & officials in recent years. They're more just broadcasting now.
@jonworth But tweets do still lead to non-public engagement. Tweets spark journalists, EU officials & MEPs (and their assistants) to get in touch via DM or email or phone etc.
Much harder to quantify, but I can say it happens to me literally every day. It's why I'm on twitter so much.
