When I tweet about figures in the NPFL, you should all know that it's not about over packaging the League, it's 90% accurate information. Yesterday, I tweeted about #NPFLTransfer & some people said audio money, some colleagues doubted the info. I want to add more this morning.

This morning I shared documents with @Undisputed_Jsam, details about a few transfers. Unfortunately, the environment is not at the level where we share this information to the public, mention names & more. But this is 2020 & we are making efforts to push out a few details.

I have always insisted that there is a lot of money in the NPFL & the low level of branding & visibility makes it difficult for people to believe but when we share a few details, trust us we know what we are saying. Maybe, one day, we'll grow beyond this level.

The NPFL is worth almost N6 billion every season at all layers of financial implications.

Yes, some teams do owe just like we have in Europe, but the % of teams paying regularly is about 70%.

Honestly, for a sector with such cash flow should be a big business in the country.

This is just a rough calculation. An average NPFL team spends N200m every season on salaries, allowances, bonuses, hotels & traveling. Some teams double this budget, but I will leave it at N200m for an average calculation.

This is N4b annually (Which could rise to N5b or more).

LMC spend an average N300m on match officials indemnities, add the budget of stadium branding & other logistic this will rise to about N400m every season.

You now understand why I said, the NPFL worth over N5b annually. We should be worried for an industry with such cash flow.

Clubs officials & players do pay tax, same also as LMC & everyone cashing on the League. Yes, 18 clubs are funded by the government but the return of tax & revenue from the League is valued at almost N1b annually. Clubs & LMC should endeavor to publish the figures.

If all those involved at decision level in the NPFL decided to make this a business, it will be great. Branding & visibility is a big setback for the NPFL. The clubs are not doing enough & LMC should get harder. First, LMC must solve the TV issue & the revenue that comes with it.
