Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announces Canada has reached an agreement with AstraZeneca to secure up to 20 million doses of the vaccine it is developing should trials be successful.

Canada is committing $440 million to the COVAX Facility, 'a global procurement mechanism that will help deliver fair, equitable and timely access to COVID-19 vaccines.' Half of the investment will go toward procuring up to 15 million vaccine doses for Canadians. News release:

Justin Trudeau says a number of rapid COVID-19 tests are currently being evaluated by Health Canada. He says the federal government is working to ensure these tests can be quickly distributed if and when they are approved.
