Trilogy of all scholarship applications
Have you wondered why you did not get that funding/scholarship and want a way out?
Let me introduce you to the “Trilogy of all scholarship applications”- Retweet!
@AcademicChatter @Oludeewon @drhammed @SamuelArawu @Okpala_IU @amuta_ann
1.The curriculum vitae
This is the first opportunity you have to sell yourself. It must be targeted to the application. Therefore, you cannot use a single CV for all applications. I strongly recommend what I call a smart CV. Follow this simple guide.
2.The personal Statement
You can consider the tweets below and get a picture of what a great personal statement should contain
3.The referee report
This is as important as your PS and CV. The content must be in concordance with whatever you are presenting in your CV. This means that the writer should at least have information enough to capture some vitals of your CV and PS. I have been a victim of cases
some Head of Departments will direct you to secretaries who would simply change the name of an existing referee report to yours and print. That is Absurd!!!
A referee do not have to be a professor(A prof could be an advantage). It is simply someone who could write exhaustively
about you. See below an example of a referee report written about me when I was applying that landed me funding. God bless her for me (She was a Lecturer 2 at FUTO).
With all this said, always make an application with the Trilogy in mind and come back to testify @eniolakiite
