On this day in 1990: Chris Roberts (@croberts68) and Origin Systems release Wing Commander.

With excellent graphics and a moving storyline, Wing Commander changed the gaming world.

What you see is what you play! The pictures in magazine ads seemed too good to be true. But they were true.

I bought my copy in September 1990 (for MS-DOS 3.30, on 5.25” floppies). Back then games came with a lot of stuff. Books, maps, diagrams.
