OK, it seems you don't know why I said you are confusing me. Clearly, your tweet which I quoted translates opposite of what the hadith you are quoting relates.
Hadiths are more than an ordinary English translations.

1. Your tweets translates as (Protection and catering for) no longer a purpose for marriage.
One thing you missed here was that, those 2 things were never reason for marriage, they were mere rights of a wife over a husband. Anybody who sees them as purpose is mistaken
2. The hadith you mentioned in Buhari was narrated by Abu Musāh as part of the signs of end time. Even though scholars fault the hadith I don't want to talk about that.
But what the hadith was translated to be was that ladies will later come to hang on men seeking for marriage
either legally or illegally.
When you see Fathul Bari (Translation and commentary) on Sahihul Bukhari Ibn Hajjar quoted an hadith to translate this hadith. Which reads:
عن حذيفة رضى الله قال، قال ص :
إذا عمت الفتنة ميز الله أولياءه حتى يتبع الرجل خمسون امرأة تقول :
يا عبد الله استرنى ، يا عبد الله آونى.
Meaning:
When calamity (Too much sin) engulfed the earth, Allah will distinguish (hand pick) His friends (Pious servants) and you will find 50 ladies following one Man saying:
Oh servant of Allah (protect me), Oh servant of Allah shelter me
And in relation to this you would discover the ratio 50:1 means ladies will be in great need of men.
But you are making it sound as of Men should be the ones now having to prove why they should marry a lady. See your tweet and check the hadith again.
Feeding and protection is just a mere right of a wife which must be given by the husband.
The man is charged with the responsibility to cater for the wife, but if the wife has a means which is lawful and legal there is no prohibition to it. But she must never forget that her own duties still awaits her. Providing feeding for the family when the husband can't does not
in anyway make her the husband, she still remains the wife and her duties awaits her.
Get to know translation of hadith's from scholars please, mere reading the English translation will only put you in jeopardy. Ask them am not one.
