Schumer: “Our number one job is to communicate exactly what is at stake for the American people if Republicans jam through this nominee. The elimination of the Affordable Care Act is at the top of the list.”
Schumer:”Most immediate & consequential issue at stake in this Supreme Court vacancy is the future of the Affordable Care Act,which hangs in the balance.If Judge Amy Coney Barrett gets on the Supreme Court,she will join a right-wing majority that will decide to abolish the ACA,.”
Schumer: “Given Senate Republicans monomaniacal drive to fill this vacancy as quickly as possible, the best way to defend those rights is a bipartisan majority that will refuse to vote on a Supreme Court nominee before the election. This will not happen on its own...”
Schumer concludes:”It requires public pressure on Senate Republicans. Health care remains the best way to keep the pressure up.Democrats will do everything we can to show exactly what is at stake.We must keep fighting as hard as we can to protect health care & America’s future.”
