Madras HC, adjourns to 1st October, the corruption case against Local Administration Minister SP Velumani. Today, Senior Counsel NR Elango advanvced arguments on behalf of DMK. He argued about the details of the petition filed before the DVAC, 1/n
their inaction, their bias and their lackadaisical attitude. And answered the questions framed by the Court during last hearing. The court had asked (i) Whether a fresh Preliminary Enquiry can be conducted by some other agency after the DVAC had completed a PE & 2/n
recommended for dropping of action. (ii) If the court, in case is not satisfied with the report submitted by DVAC, either in fact, or on law ? (iii) If that is the case, can the same complaint of the petitioner in the earlier PE be referred to the new agency ? 3/n
(iv) In such an eventuality, the new investigating agency should be added as respondents or not.
Sr Counsel NR Elango answered all these questions and the matter stands posted to 1st of October for argument by 4/n
