Upanayan - Janeu Dhaaran
Upanayan Sanskar is one of the 16 Sanskars of human life. This introduces the male child to a teacher in order to receive education and marking the entry of the child to Brahmacharya.
The word Upanayan consists of two words, ‘upa’ &
‘nayana’. ‘Upa’ means near also ‘nayana’ means to taking
towards. Upanayan means taking one towards the Guru
tatva.
Nayan also means ‘the eye’. Upanayan thus means the inner vision (antahachakshu).
Therefore, the ritual which facilitates the development of inner vision is called Upanayan. The prathama gurus with whom we get linked for life long are Surya Bhagwan and Gayatri Devi.
This process is to initiate the individual's journey towards development through
understanding the Sanatana Dharma very closely. It affirms u to stay grounded and reminds u of your
duties as per your Dharma at large. The boy is given Bhramopadesham - Gayatri Mantra.
Each round of Janeu consists 3 set threads representing the 3 shakti tatvas of universe ( Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi, Maha Saraswati ) your body wears 3 tatvasShakti, Aishwaryam & Knowledge. Maintaining purity is a MUST. As per
dakshinachara in south states some rules r made.
A Bhramin - Get his sanskara done by below age 8
A Kshatriya - By age 12
A Vaisya - By age 16.
If by any chance they miss , the upper limit is 24 for performing the sanskara.

Janeu shouldn't be removed once accepted from a guru. This is th real tatva 1 has to practice until last breath. This is manavadharma. A true Sanatani who wants to grow should take this sanskara very seriously for his spiritual growth.
According to the sastras, a girl getting married is considered upanayana sanskar for them.
People who go through the religious ritual of sacred thread bearing ceremony (Upanayanam) and chanting of Gayatri Mantra are called Dwijas - Twice (Dwi) Born (Janama)
