There seems to be a lack of awareness of our region's admittedly convoluted municipal and geographic set-up, so hope this helps:
Liverpool City Region = Merseyside + Halton
Merseyside = Liverpool, Wirral, Knowsley, St Helens, Sefton (yes that includes Southport)
All of the areas listed above have the new restrictions, as does Warrington
Steve Rotheram is the city region Mayor for the whole region (all of Merseyside and Halton)
Joe Anderson is the Mayor for the city of Liverpool alone
Policing wise, Merseyside (not including Halton) is covered by Merseyside Police
Halton (which includes Runcorn and Widnes) is covered by Cheshire Police as it is in the county of Cheshire
Same applies to Police and Crime Commissioners
