Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause
Guide our leader’s right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love & honesty to grow
And living just & true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace & justice shall reign.
This second stanza of the national anthem is
always my first prayer when it's independence day.
My prayer in recent times has been "Help our youth the truth to know. "
A country highly dominated & blessed with creative youths, it's saddening that youths who should be propellers of a positive society are the 21st-century
tool used to perpetuate violence in the same society.
"Knowing the right thing is important, doing the right thing is more important."
I know one of the first lines of defence when these issues come up, is "Nigeria is not a sane clime, our leaders are this & that, the economy
is this etc." well I won't say these excuses aren't valid but on the other hand, my thoughts are "we will always have reasons to complain if we have too but if we look beyond the complaints & see the bright side we will always have reasons to be grateful as well."
Going forward as youths we need to learn how to be agents of change starting from the way we speak, address issues, respond to issues and most importantly act.
We can't continually hurl curses at our leaders, proclaim failed words at our dear nation & except a miracle.
We need to be more positive regardless of whatever situation you are going through, stay hopeful & stay thankful.
When situations don't go as planned rather than hurl curses, speak the solution, speak the right situation into that circumstance, it doesn't stop you from
identifying the wrong but beyond identifying the wrongs be ready to right the wrongs I.e be a solution provider.
It won't be easy but it will be worth it.
Nigeria is great, Nigeria will be great.
When? In my lifetime
God guides our Leaders
God take charge of our Leader's heart.
God bless our Leaders
God bless Nigeria
We will overcome.
