Just a heads-up for those participating in #DisabledRollCall and #DEHEMRollCall, if you could try to make sure images are accessible with alt-text or image descriptions; videos with accurate captions, color-blindness friendly colors on images/graphics; and...

camel-case with the hash tags, where each word begins with a capital (e.g. #DisInHigherEd, #DisabledInSTEM), that would be much appreciated. We want to make sure our event is as accessible as possible. So, that everyone can join in and participate in the fun!

And if anyone else has any other suggestions to making posts more accessible, please let us know via DM!

Oh and transcripts for videos!

Also, our executive team member @LindaCCor recently took over the @iamscicomm account last month to talk about content accessibility. She made this incredible thread on tips for twitter accessibility. Check it out, especially if you're new to accessibility.

Another helpful accessibility tip is also to include alt-text or image descriptions on all GIFs.

If you want to check to see if images or GIFs have alt-text, you can use this bot @ImageAltText - this bot reads the alt-text off images.

There's also @get_altText that is a bot with the same function. This can help ensure that images are accessible and serves as a good check.
