I've seen the memo and NBC News left out key context that shows the "sympathetic" talking points were not actually talking points: townhall.com/tipsheet/julio…
There are two parts to the memo, "Situation" and "Response." This distinction was not made in NBC News' story. It's important because the "sympathetic" talking points were underneath the "Situation" section. The "Response" section told officials to give a no comment.
The "Situation," or background information, is "not meant to be talking points," a senior official with direct knowledge told Townhall.
As someone who saw the second half of the shooting in Kenosha, it’s been frustrating to see the misinformation that has been spread by people who were not there.
