Liberals are some of the most illiberal people on earth because once they get power, they shovel their agenda down your throat coated in rhetoric about "justice." Conservatives have no response but to cry foul and pretend there is a neutral middle to be sought.
I don't want to come to an "understanding" with Newsom or the people who want reparations. I want to politically beat them and marginalize them.

Conservatives might actually be the only real liberals left, and they are getting crushed, because liberalism presupposes a neutral middle, a disinterested political process. That made sense a century ago or two.
The people we call "liberals" have tendencies more akin to totalitarianism than anything else. They believe their agenda is objectively good, scientifically necessary, and the gulag is actually a good thing.
