Parscale didn't explain which agency was investigating him, or why, but campaign staff noted the shocking turn from a colleague who had been central to Trump's political rise in 2016.
They said Parscale appeared to be fine on campaign Zoom meetings in the weeks before his recent meltdown that has landed him in a South Florida hospital under protective custody.
Parscale declined comment on the record.
"There are no audits or investigations, and never have been, at the campaign or the RNC," said Trump campaign comms director Tim Murtaugh. He did not respond to ?s about Parscale's comments to campaign staff and friends that he is a target of a federal probe.
