I’ve been thinking a great deal about the Five Act structure over the past month — specifically how to apply it to factual events, namely 2020. It’s hard, there are a lot of plot threads, but work with me! Shakespeare might be proud: ( 1/ )

Act I begins after the impeachment acquittal. If it did not, too many loose ends would be in play. So, there are rumblings of a unique coronavirus in China in February. By the end of that month, China falls into a dystopic state, locking down the nation. ( 2/ )

Meanwhile, in the States, the President has been informed about the emergent threat and has chosen to do nothing about it. By 05 March, there are 64 cases of coronavirus. End Act I. ( 3/ )

Act II. China quashes the majority of infections. Hotspots appear throughout the EU. New York City is faced with lockdown. The nation finds a leader’s voice in NY’s governor. ( 4/ )

Meanwhile, @POTUS begins holding sideshows mocking the severity of the virus, noting it’s a hoax perpetuated by Democrats to make his reëlection bid more difficult. A covert bidding war for PPE between governors is fostered by the Feds. End Act II. ( 5/ )

Act III. Lockdown and facial coverings have flattened the curve throughout the EU, sans one country. The UK does not take Covid seriously. The UK’s Prime Minister contracts Covid and is hospitalized. ( 6/ )

Meanwhile, @POTUS has instructed people to inject themselves with bleach. Congress passes a massive spending bill to prop up the enormous number of unemployed — the worst since the Great Depression. End Act III. ( 7/ )

Act IV. The UK’s prime minister escapes death and has changed his views on Covid, noting its severity. Other plagues are beginning to resurge throughout the world due to overly taxed healthcare systems. ( 8/ )

Meanwhile, in the US, former VP Joe Biden (D) clinches the pres primary nomination. @POTUS ends daily briefings and instructs the Feds (CDC) to downplay Covid risk. ( 9/ )

Massive and peaceful social unrest over the shootings of unarmed Black people inc. George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, & Jacob Blake rightfully roil the nation. Riots incited by rightists induce the Feds to use gestapo tactics. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg dies. End Act IV. ( 10/ )

Act V. Catastrophe. The virus rages throughout South America largely unchecked. It begins to make a resurgence in the EU. Russia touts two possible vaccines. ( 11/ )

The craven vultures in Washington drop any further action on helping the American people affected by coronavirus, instead attempting to ram through a Supreme Court Justice in less than 80 days. ( 12/ )

At rallies, @POTUS still calls Covid a hoax. The first presidential debate is a fiasco, as @POTUS does nothing but scream for 90 mins. He does nothing to support the racial justice movement, instead telling a white supremicist cell to “Stand down and stand by.” ( 13/ )

@POTUS and @FLOTUS are reported to have contracted coronavirus. #TrumpHasCovid. The president has mild symptoms. Joe Biden, staunch mask user, has not caught it. ( 14/ )

Epilogue. America votes. I cannot write a history or a summary aside from this simply because I’ve no idea what’s going to happen. None of us do. Just vote and end this fucking nightmare. The end. ( /Fin)
