The point is that she and the people around her have been going without any of the precautions science says are necessary to prevent it spreading, and for all we know there’ve been undisclosed—possibly asymptomatic—transmissions throughout the conservative world this whole time.
Also, I’m going to say this bluntly, it is a naive view of how long conservatives have been waiting for RBG to die to think that Amy Coney Barrett hasn’t been regularly meeting with top Republican leaders for months to strategize in advance of her nomination.
