(There are shenanigans the GOP can pull to get Barrett through the Judiciary Committee even if some senators are quarantining. But if they want a full vote before Election Day, they need their people up and around and on the floor of the senate by then.)
And of course with three Republican senators announcing positive test results in less than 24 hours, there's no reason to assume that's the end of the list.
Interestingly, Senator Johnson wasn't at the White House superspreader event on Saturday ... because he was in quarantine after being exposed to someone who was sick in early September. Apparently he contracted the virus on Tuesday. thedailybeast.com/wisconsin-gop-…
Given all that, I'd be kind of surprised if Johnson wound up being the last GOP senator to contract the virus in the next little while. Looks like we're looking at multiple sites of infection at this point—either all derived from the same root, or possibly not.
