The president's doctor was just asked, twice, whether Trump has received any supplemental oxygen during his illness. He replied that he isn't on oxygen now, then said he hasn't gotten any today. So apparently he was on oxygen yesterday.
The doctor also just said that Trump has been fever-free since yesterday, but refused to answer how high his fever was before.
"Yesterday and today he was not on oxygen."
"So he was not on oxygen during his Covid treatment?"
"He's not on oxygen right now."
I didn't get it verbatim, but Conley just said Trump isn't on oxygen now, didn't get any on Thursday, and didn't get any "here with the whole team" (?) yesterday. Sounds like he was given oxygen at the White House y'day, and that may have contributed to the decision to move him.
Conley's disinclination to just flatly lie made that press conference much more interesting than most of Trump's flacks' availabilities. Gonna be interesting to see how long it takes them to let him answer questions again.
By my count, Conley refused to answer questions about past supplemental oxygen, when Trump first tested positive, the level of his past fever, whether he's had any lung damage, and a couple of others.
The doc also said Trump was diagnosed 72 hours ago, which would make it Wednesday morning, more than 36 hours before it was publicly disclosed—and way earlier than the timeline the White House has released.
If Trump was diagnosed 72 hours ago, as his doctor just suggested, that's the morning after the debate, and prior to his Minneapolis indoor fundraiser and his Duluth rally (both Wednesday) and his Thursday Bedminster fundraiser.
(BTW, I seem to have missed it, but several people have said that the docs refused to answer a question about whether Trump has been given steroids.)
Questions the docs DID answer include his current pulse ox rate, whether he currently has a fever, and his current pulse, and the lack of variation in his blood pressure since the diagnosis, so this is not a matter of not wanting to discuss specifics of his condition.
