THREAD: "Liz's quote, "the White House is running this."" - @petestrzok 8/5/16
/ With the release of the 9/7/16 CROSSFIRE HURRICANE fusion cell memorandum, I think we can finally determine the significance of this text message and who "Liz" might be. judiciary.senate.gov/press/rep/rele…
/ If one follows the texts between Strzok and @NatSecLisa from the day before his meeting with Liz, it's clear that Pete is referring to his hesitance of an upcoming Langley meeting with @CIA analysts because "her group [the agency] is apparently too big to fit in a car".
/ Page even admits in her testimony to @MarkMeadows that this text refers to the White House running "the broader intelligence community's investigation of Russian active measures", i.e. the CH fusion cell, but "definitely not" the FBI Russia collusion investigation. Sure, Lisa.
/ But who is Liz? Liz is likely the Chief of the Counterintelligence Mission Center, "a veteran female CIA officer" who is "wary about the administration" and authored an internal review of the Khost suicide bombing. The memo infers that she's in Legal... washingtonpost.com/world/national…
/ In search of CIA attorneys named Liz with Afghanistan ties, I came across Elizabeth Vogt, an attorney involved in the 2005 destruction of interrogation tapes who worked with Bob Eatinger, a Counterterrorism Center lawyer. Durham? npr.org/templates/stor… latimes.com/nation/la-xpm-…
/ I believe this Elizabeth is the same Counterterrorism Center lawyer who signed off on the 2003 Khaled el-Masri kidnapping that lead to the torture of an innocent man. Yet, she was promoted in the CTC and apparently was then involved in the 2005 scandal. nbcnews.com/id/41484983/ns…
/ Did Liz Vogt eventually become the CIMC Chief? I'm not sure, but I am sure that the White House was running Liz's portion of @JohnBrennan's fusion cell and potentially Strzok's as well. @DevinNunes has interviewed the Chief, maybe he or @RichardGrenell could weigh in...
