Hohoholy shit.

A prototype of Pokemon Sword has been leaked on 4Chan. It might be completely unrelated to the wack0 leak of 2018, which is where every single other Pokemon proto leak has come from.

Therefore, we have no idea if this is real or not. More in the thread...

- Seems to use Sun/Moon as a base and had a minimap at one point (seems to show Alola's Royal Avenue)
- Screenshots show a WIP train station, Route 1 and Hop's house.
- Beedrill (which is not in the final game) is in the background, and is replaced on Route 1 by Butterfree.

Disclaimer should be pretty obvious at this point, but I did not leak anything nor am I related to it. At this point, I'm relaying information from the 4Chan thread and various members of the community so big sites don't mess it up.

- People have confirmed it's real/playable

- That being said, the title screen is clearly a mockup piece of art. It seems this was designed without the Pokedex cut in mind, and both Mega Evolution (Primal Reversion) as well as various forms (Dark-Arceus and Autumn Sawsbuck) are present.

this looks like a pre-crunch build

- Apparently the leak is from March of 2018. This puts it at probably the earliest stage of post-pre production, as new-Gen Pokemon games usually have just over a year of pre-prod. before it's development.

The proof of concept title screen makes sense.

- People have got ahold of the full art. If reverse image searching is anything to go by, it's definitely real.
- With the title screen not showing the player's final champion team, it's pretty logical that the story and end-game content had not been finished at this point.

Screenshots from the /ppg/ Discord

- Game seems to use LGPE UI, with plans for the Rotom Dex to return.
- Icons are all pretty self-explanatory, but Japanese speakers may be able to help translate all of this in the replies!

- The Gym/Stadium battle models seem to have been finished early on. The UI is completely different and models seem to have a ton of issues.
- Red/Blue colours indicate that Shield/Zamazenta were also probably planned ahead at this point, but I think that's standard by now.

- Route 1's music is unfinished since it doesn't loop properly.
- The minimap seems to roughly track Alola's.
- Stackataka lol
- Player's house

- EARLY MOTOSTOKE, NO NEW MUSIC

- Early Pokemon Centre and more Motostoke

- Gloria's running animation isn't good by any means, and she has no subtle walking animation when moving down steps
- The elevator doesn't work at all

- Inside of a Gym?
- Early Route 7 and Hulbury. Galar Mine No. 2 does not exist yet and just teleports instantly to Nessa's city lol

(reminder at this point in the thread that I'm not the one playing it, let alone own it)

- The band that plays at the end of the game has no statue, suggesting they may not have been developed yet?
- Nessa's gym exists but doesn't work functionally at all
- Rough translations for the menu which was shown earlier

- Route 5 exists with no bridge area.
- Daycare building is there
- No wandering Pokemon
- Campsites were definitely planned early on

- Turffield
- TM placement seems the same?
- Milo's Gym doesn't have a layout at all unlike Nessa's, but seems to have the stadium portion all sorted out. Crowds are even animated too, and was the first one we saw/they likely worked on.

- Dynamax hill is still there, complete with the Stonjourner/Greedunt cutout.
- the person streaming it crashed LOL

- Debug starts you off at Gloria's House
- Wedgehurst, Route 2 and the Pokemon Lab are all intact.
- The water is actually animated lol

- The exact timestamp of the build
- Magnolia's House
- EARLY WILD BATTLE THEME

- Beta Wild Area with a BUNCH of Pokemon that are just hanging out. Cut Pokemon like Ekans, Furforu and Aurorus are present.

- Route 3 seems to be pretty far along, way more than Route 2.
- Same with Route 4, but Galar Mine No. 1 doesn't exist.

- The Bag feature doesn't function at all
- EARLY POKEMON CAMP, USES LET'S GO BACKGROUND

- Given how scuffed every single Pokemon's animations, models, code and cries seem to be at this point I get why they had to cut a bunch of Pokemon. The game looks absolutely terrible in this state lmao
- No salons, shops etc. with any functionality (duh)

- No Gen 8 Pokemon as of this post, (aside from the Greedunt/Stonjourner sign
- No freecam in the Wild Area too? unsure on that
- Also, is the running animation fully ripped from Sun/Moon at this point? wrists don't bend that way

(if it's not obvious by the date of the build, this is the same "Gigaleak" that was wack0's doing)
- "SHIELD" is also there
- Dude's stream is gone for now

Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee also have a beta build. I'll post some updates in this thread for both when they arise

- Prototype tracks for the Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee Wild Battle and Palette Town have been uncovered in the SwSh proto's data. I don't want to risk posting them on this account for obvious reasons, but they were posted in TCRF Discord.

Sound very empty.

- Beta LGPE title screen and Oak's Lab have also been found in SwSh's files.
- Beta SwSh Wild Battle music has also been found. Seems to be simpler with more electric guitars
- According to a post in TCRF (not my file explorer) the SwSh prototype build only has 20 Pokemon in it.

- Love the adorable icons in this build. Absolutely supposed to be in place of the emotes for the online functionality

- Gen 6 Codenames compiled by @FlowersBlooms15

- Also yes, Mega Evolution was in the files. The data is the same as Let's Go though, which means that even at this early stage it wasn't entirely ruled out or guaranteed.

- baytah Dynamax/Max Raid Battle

okay what the fuck is this

- Animated Title Screen has been found for beta Let's Go Pikachu

UPDATE:

- People have managed to get into Let's Go Pikachu's prototype files that were in the same leak. I'm making a new thread so Sword & Shield discoveries don't clog up anything from the Kanto remakes, can be found here

- Pixel Art logo for Pokemon Sword posted in TCRF!

- 99% sure this was in Sword's proto, but it's more relevant here since I THINK it's Kanto??? but what even is this?

- As pointed out by @SantiagoCasale, this map resembles the original Gen 1 layout of Kanto. I really wish we had a more accurate one, instead of the video-gamey level-designy one that we got.

- Protostoke
- Forgot to mention Avalugg's codename was "ICE3" meaning that it probably had a middle/baby evolution that was scrapped at some point, almost 100% during the XY days.
- Route 7? This is where the "leon stops dmax pokemon" thing happens

- As some ppl may have guessed, this could be a VERY early GMax-Toxtricity but at the moment it's unknown

- Things might be slowing down on my end. I'll post updates whenever I can, but it's 3AM over here and I need some sleep. Stay followed if you want everything accurate!

- The "Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee prototype" is actually an even earlier build of Pokemon Sword from 2017. From now on I'll be distinguishing the differences between the two, by year, with the one up until now being from March of 2018!

- People have uploaded the prototype Gym Battle music that was in the Prototype.

I love the original, but this one sounds incredible too. Genuinely sounds like a fantastic remix of the original

- Part 2!

such a fucking banger wtf

THREAD CONTINUES HERE OOPS:

- Circhester & Hammerlocke Gym!

- A Max Raid debug test (LGPE Background) and SUPER early Ballonlea

- A comparison of the Pokemon in each build posted in TCRF Discord.

The left is 2017, the right is March 2018. If it wasn't clear at this point, the Dex cut hadn't been considered, and all of the Pokemon included in the builds were not indicative of any real decision-making.

A LATER build of Pokemon Sword has been uploaded to 4Chan, dating back to May of 2018 (previous builds were Dec. 2017 and Mar. 2018)

I'll be compiling information here from this point onwards, and I will be reporting all the big changes from here on out.

Title Screen:

(May 2018)

- Hop's house is basically done in this build
- Music doesn't loop properly still
- New menu that scrolls horizontally
- Camp appears to be similar to previous builds
- Bike is in
- Character customisation is also in

(Dec. 2017)

- Gloria has a Teddiursa pin on her bag, despite that Pokemon not existing in Galar within the final

(May 2018)

- Prototype Glimwood Tangle
- Old-style Random Wild Encounters are in the game with Furfrou and Beedrill at this early period
- Early Stow-On-Side. Looks to be mostly visually complete but very laggy and unstable

(May 2018)

- Early Slumbering Weald works in this build? No fog or lighting tho
- Unused trainer/NPC design??? :o
- Zacian/Zamazenta area seems to be mostly finished

(May 2018)

- Motostoke looks far more complete, elevator still doesn't work though
- Features more early designs
- Route 7 is still super unfinished

(Dec. 2017)

- lol trace model

(May 2018)

- Galar Mine No. 2 is present for the first time!
- It reuses the Grass Gym model, but Hulbury has an actual gym exterior now lol
- Route 2 from another angle

Again, I wanna re-clarify that I don't have any of these builds and I'm not the one playing it!

(May 2018)

- Sound effects for dialogue bubbles are different
- Dialogue boxes look different too
- Pokemon Centre actually kinda functions now
- Proto save screen, might need some Japanese speakers on this lol
- Shows SUPER early Gym Symbols. Rock and Ice in the same game???

(May 2018)

- Different battle background tests
- The old (new?) dialogue boxes that weren't present in previous builds
- Has the option to disable/enable outlines on Pokemon

(May 2018)

- Route 3 looks the same as it did before, but with a trainer battle! And against a finalised NPC design which is odd.
- No Trainer music or battle intro, just fade to blade
- Old UI is different but pretty good
- Close up of the pre-Rotom Bike

(May 2018)

- Galar Mine 1 crashes the game, no longer teleports you to Rt. 4
- PKMN Centre is done on the outside, as are a lots of buildings
- Pidgeot (cut from final) was in the air above Postwick
- Boutique & Lab
- You can customise the scale of the menu in this build

(May 2018)

- All trainer battles are the same and seem to have SOME placements that match with the final
- Magnolia's House Exterior seems to be more finalised
- Fishing spots exist but you can't seem to interact with them
T-Posing models seem to be for cutscenes?

(May 2018)

- Tips? 🤔
- Greninja still bugged
- An earlier version of the map that is very similar to the Mar. 2018 build
- Several test fields present

(May 2018)

- A Hop's House test map
- (unfinished) Route 10's version of Wyndon, entering the gate causes a crash
- Proto Route 6

(May 2018)

- Proto Hammerlocke
- Entering the Falinks maze portion of Rt. 8 crashes the game
- Beta Kabu's Gym
- this purple model looks familiar lol. Looks like a generic trainer, similar hair/hat to Chase/Red
- Shading in battles looks pretty similar to LGPE yet and not SwSh

(May 2018)

- As with every Pokemon, all previous items are in the code. Unknown if they function.
- Interestingly, they all have plural text too. Doesn't mean anything but cool to know
- Beta Icons for the Let's Go Berries, which predate USUM's items in the list.

(May 2018)

- Guess LGPE started development before USUM? The LGPE candies follow USUM's items though, so it's hard to be sure. Seems like some messy crossover happened.
- A ton of unknown items all in Japanese that follow Let's Go's stuff
- FULLY STORYBOARDED CUTSCENES

(May 2018)

- Rose originally going to send out Copperajah
- Early Leon, Raihan and Duraludon

(May 2018)

- Seems to play out exactly the same way but it's suuuuper cool to see. Each storyboard is a single frame with camera directions that cuts to the next. It also physically pans to match them. Actions such as Charizard moving are shown with arrows ⬆

(May 2018)

- Dunno what this debug info says, some people might be able to help lol
- More Postwick. Pidgeot, Aerodactyl (both cut) and lol Blastoise
- Test room that has both the new dialogue box and the LGPE one?
- LGPE Beta Trainer Battle music has been found
- Wyndon Stadium

(May 2018)

- Here's the opening cutscene storyboard in full. Another time to remind that I haven't got access to the build nor am I related to the leak, this is just documenting what people are posting around and finding.

(May 2018)

- A cut scene between Raihan and Leon? If it's in the final game it's very different here lol

(May 2018)

- Opening ceremony for the gym challenge storyboard. Features Sword's leaders, no Allister or Melony to be found.

(May 2018)

- COMPLETELY different Gym Challenge introduction cutscene. Features Marnie, Bede and Hop a lot more prominently. I don't even remember what this was in the final game, if at all. Bede definitely built up to be a bigger threat here early on.

(May 2018)

- A storyboarded Shield version of the Gym Leader cutscene has been found. Features Allister and Melony but is otherwise identical.

(May 2018)

- Prototype party screen posted on 4Chan

(May 2018)

- Here's the stat summary screen! Too many changes to count here but they're pretty apparent.

(Dec 2017)

- Sheep! They're SUPER far in the background so I dunno if they count as "Beta Wooloo" but it's the closest thing we have to a sheep model in this game. No code for Wooloo is in the game though.

(Dec 2017)

- Found in the /ppg/ Discord. Some early LGPE locations found in the 2017 Beluga Sword/Shield build. Camera seems massively pulled back like regular SwSh.

this is so uncanny LOL

Assuming this is in the 2017 build, but...

oh my god

(May 2018)

just look at him go
