1)The 1960’s Mother ground down with lies from the other. Unsupported by the limp society of times.
She was left alone, with three children in tow.
Curse the reality of that time.
This woman accomplished greatness.
Two jobs brought bulged veins which colored her young legs blue.
2)She did not let it cripple her.
She cricled life with female comrades and built upon that.
This woman with no formal education protected her children as she did her self worth.
She danced with her offspring to teach them how life can move if you take it on...
3) Drawn by the muffled keening like sounds in the night. I watched her through the door I cracked.
This woman, her face into her pillow unaware that her sobbing was sent through the house and invited itself into my room.
Now there my mother.
Now there was I..
4) Curse the reality of that time.
This woman was great.
As every morning broke so did she.
Yet she rose and dressed herself with armor.
Three children intow.
There was no notion of defeat in this mother.
She redefined what could be joy in her life...
5) Then literally jump from the sky.
Learning to take flight.
She flew machines in the sky.
Not held back by the lying and bigoted 60’s.
She found the lost young woman in herself.
She took that young woman out for the night.
She saw those colored lights.
She brought them forward
6)This mother.
Oh, this mother.
This person found greatness.
She lived before she quit.
Whether she will ever remember or not she cried out:
Curse the enemy she said.
Let them catch me.
