Film Out MV Analysis and Theory Thread :

The quote which can be found in Persona MV is the most important quote for the journey to find the map of the soul. This is the summary of Seokjin’s objective in order to stop the time loop.

In here we can see multiple doors and the timeline Seokjin had been through, the memories and time he spent with the boys and the years he struggled to find the solution to end the time loop.

However, the room he is in is the room that overlooks into the darkness, the night. This “primordial cosmic night” indicates the location of the soul. Therefore, the room Seokjin’s in throughout the music video is his soul.

Then, slowly, the members appeared like a projection, this barrier or screen which separates them is a “door” Seokjin is trying to go through. This is his deepest and most intimate sanctum of the soul. Just like in the notes, the memories with the boys are his map of the soul.

But within this sanctum there is something sacred that should not be touched even slightly and this is time which preserves memory.

Which reminded him of the desert and the tenuous road he endured. Where the ego and the shadow encountered one another, where he made the wrong choices.

Just before Jungkook vanishes, he directly stares into the camera trying to communicate with Jin on the other side. This form of breaking of the fourth wall allows him to reverse time for a while and give Seokjin a warning/heads up.

Then chaos ensues.

The fear of being scattered and fear in itself made Seokjin run away from his room. However the leaps are too great now and starting anew is another trial to bear the burden of.

So he came back inside and try to reconcile with his dreams, the sanctum of his soul where only Tae remains. Just like in hyyh, the one who pulled Seokjin off the time loop and reminded him of the memories he shared with the boys.

This message to reconcile with yourself instead of going against it is an allusion to the Sope scene in Black Swan and their reconciliation is this mv.
