Ontario's COVID-19 ICU crisis and explosion in cases didn't come out of nowhere. Doug Ford and the PCs loosened restrictions and ignored scientists for MONTHS as they warned about exactly this.

From March 11, Ontario Science Table Briefing:

On March 11 (over a month ago) the Ontario Science Table presents modelling that projects a potential disaster in Ontario's ICUs. Doug Ford & the PCs keep loosening restrictions anyway. Field hospitals will begin accepting patients next week. Pt 2/2

Way back on February 11, the Ontario Science Table projected a future with thousands of daily COVID-19 cases and ICUs pushed to the brink. Doug Ford & the PCs ignored them and decreased public health measures, setting the stage for disaster. Pt 1/2

While Ford and the PCs try to pretend they're blindsided by Ontario's ICU crisis and the explosion in COVID-19 cases, here's the Ontario Science Table projecting thousands of cases per day and ICUs on the verge of triage back on February 11th. Pt 2/2

On April 1, the Ontario Science Table projected completely overwhelmed ICUs and exploding cases. Doug Ford and the PCs ignored their call for a stay-at-home order, instead enacting a fake lockdown that changed almost nothing in COVID hotspots. Pt 1/2

This April 1 modelling - which showed no scenario where Ontario doesn't reach 800 ICU COVID cases (triage) - was presented to the Ford govt, and they still chose a half-ass lockdown instead of the stay-at-home order scientists said they needed. Pt 2/2
