1n I knew Supreme Court judges seem economically illiterate, but I’m aghast to discover the extraordinary superficiality & outright nonsense history spewed by an allegedly “scholarly” judge. His history classes seem to be from 1921 not 2021. A thread on the inaccuracies here

2n First up Ptolemy did not start Egyptian royal consanguinity. It begins with the first dynasty, lasts through the old, middle & new kingdoms. Tutankhamen was perhaps the most famous product of incest with severe inherited diseases

3n the joke of Shakespeare as a historical source aside 1) Egypt was already a Roman vassal 2) it was cleopatra’s atrocious choices, interfering in Roman politics that got her killed 3) clearly never heard of Hatshepsut - a far greater regnant Queen who achieved much more

4n there was no Pope Joan - the first mention of whom is made in 1250 (400 years after her supposed reign). Zero archeological evidence of her existence has been found and no apocryphal mention in the years between 855 & 1250 - not even by foreign sources which exist aplenty

5n absolute rubbish - prior to 1059 there was absolutely no standard procedure & THERE 👏🏾 IS 👏🏾 NO 👏🏾 ORIGINAL 👏🏾 MANUSCRIPT. I’m now seriously beginning to doubt this mans evidentiary standards.

6n next up “Peter Stanford” - a man who treats Judas & the devil as fact. But you know, believing in the Pushpaka Vimana being a Boeing 787 gets you a one way ticket to a psychiatric asylum - but believing this crap gets you into a Supreme Court judges reading/quotation list

7n his honour thinks ignoring Turkoman nobles (the sultanate’s power base) in favour of a zero-power-base Abyssinian is good politics. Also ignorant of the Turkic practice of Kratocracy - something Iltutmish specifically mentioned when refusing Jalaloddin Mingburnu’s asylum

8n Angles Saxons & Jutes were not “English” either - they were brutal invaders who Genocided the original Celtic inhabitants who had been romanised. Their invasions of Britain began in the 400s

Fact 1 - more catholics were executed by Elizabeth I alone than Protestants by the ENTIRE Spanish Inquisition over 200 years

Fact 2 Her atrocious mismanagement of the fleet killed of a huge number of her own sailors who had valiantly defeated the Spanish Armada

10n the same Catherine who refused to listen to Voltaire & abolish serfdom thanks to which Russia was never able to modernise for 100 years thereafter? When every other European country had? The same Voltaire she used to quote “man is born free but is in chains everywhere”

10n cumulatively when you see the sheer number of outright half facts & errors, you being to understand why judicial reforms are so critically required in this country.
