Dear @PMOIndia. 20,100 Indians have died of CoVID since the beginning of the second wave. Please provide data as to how many of them had been vaccinated.
The USA has provided this data: Out of 75 million vaccinated, only 5800 contracted CoVID, and only 75 of them died.
Data just made public by the govt: Of the 11 crore Indians who got vaccinated (first dose) ONLY 21,353, or 0.019%, later became CoVID positive. The figure would be even lower if you exclude frontline workers.
This is stunning. The vaccines work spectacularly.
Get the jab. NOW.
Dear @PMOIndia. We MUST put second dose on hold, or at least increase the gap from 4 weeks to 12 like the UK has, so we can vaccinate as many as possible.
Lancet Covishield study: 81% efficacy if gap between doses is 12 weeks, 55% if gap < 6 weeks.
Save lives. AND Vaccines.
Finally. Two weeks late but excellent decision, @PMOIndia. This will help release millions of shots for first dose vaccinations and save precious lives. Well-done.
Another good decision; will allow precious vaccines to be used for those who haven't had CoVID.
Study just out confirms that neutralising antibodies in recovered patients last AT LEAST 8 months irrespective of age or comorbidity (nature.com/articles/s4146…).
