If you missed our AGM on Monday here are theπŸ’«π’½π’Ύπ‘”π’½π“π’Ύπ‘”π’½π“‰π“ˆπŸ’«

With the apologies, minutes of the last meeting, and AOB gubbins out of the way (beautifully chaired by @TheTomPacker), @SCM_Britain_CEO took us through the SCM Staff and General Council reports.

Highlights from the last year for staff and GC included the formation of SCM Online (thanks again to @AllchurchesT for the funding to make this happen!), the care packages we sent to members in the Autumn and at Christmas, and, of course, the #MoreBeautifulStory series.

You can watch all of the #MoreBeautifulStory videos here:

So much has happened in SCM over the past year so it was hard to narrow everything down to just three highlights, but we didn't want the meeting to last forever to so we swiftly moved onto a campaigns update from the lovely @thatmathsnerd.

The key takeaway from the campaigns update was that we'll be focusing on just one campaign a year from now on, instead of having two running concurrently. We hope that this will mean SCM can engage fully with one topic as we focus our comms and activism.

Our current campaigns are focused on food and peace (two of the best things we think you'll agree). As part of our peace campaign we'll be making some peace bunting (yes that's a thing) that we can use at the @StopTheArmsFair protest in September #Craftivism

We'll be sending out craftivism kits to all of our members in the next care package so that they can join in with making a piece of peace bunting and be part of the protest even if they can't physically be there!

Next up, finance and operations whizz Lisa led us through a draft finance report that covered areas of income and expenditure, and we looked at the level of SCM's reserves. If you'd like to see the full report you can email Lisa at scm@movement.org.uk.

We moved onto the Fundraising Report presented by Simon, who certainly puts the 'fun' in fundraising! (sorry, not sorry). There was a big push for members to sign up to@giveasyoulive as an easy and free way to fundraise for SCM (this is a hint - you should go and do it too!)

Simon shared that our wonderful SCM Friends network smashed our target of Β£5k and raised over Β£9k for the SCM Christmas appeal! Thank you so very much to everyone who donated πŸ™ If you'd like to secure the work of SCM for the future you can donate here: shorturl.at/amwP3

We then moved onto the General Council elections. Is there anything more exciting than democracy in action?!*

We'll spare you the administrative details, but we're thrilled to be able to announce that all of the nominees were voted into their chosen roles!

*Probably

A huge congratulations to @TheTomPacker and @hayeahmaybenot who were re-elected, and the warmest of welcomes to our newest GC elects @_liddybee, @_joshhouse, @_joshmock, and @VicAnneTurner. We are thrilled to have you all on board πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸ™Œ

We then had questions from the movement, including how SCM plans to make itself financially sustainable over the next 5 years, the specific breakdown of staff costs in the finance report, when our campaigns run from/until, and how many trustees SCM can have.

Finally, @SCM_Britain_CEO led us in prayer and committed the movement's work to God, and that was that!

Overall an excellent AGM was had by all (we hope, at least!) If you'd like to read any of the reports in more detail please get in touch with us at scm@movement.org.uk πŸ™Œ
