Spine always grows in the back that is against the wall.

To hell with America. Bharat Biotech has already sourced all its raw materials for COVAXIN locally, with Indian manufacturers rushing in to help; and I am sure SII will follow suit.

We stand alone; but WE stand together.

Bharat Biotech has already eliminated dependency on US imports needed for COVAXIN, that has an 81% efficacy, a 99.9% success rate against post-vaccination CoVID, and is equally effective against B.1.617 mutant.

America, if YOU need our help, let us know.

Why are Indian politicians and bureaucrats hailing the US IP/Patent waiver as though it is a godsend for us? All these vaccine technologies are decades old, and our indigenous pipeline is already multi-platform - whole virus; adeno; DNA; RNA; subunit.

Stop being Uncle Toms.

Dear @BillGates. You can jab those formulas in your bum for all we care. We have our own proprietary pipeline.

Whole Virus: Bharat Biotech
DNA: Zydus
RNA: Gennova
Subunit: Biologic E
Adeno: Bharat Biotech

If the world needs an IP waiver from us I'm sure we'll be glad to oblige.

Always felt fruits of Science are to be be shared with everyone, that they mustn't be subject to national boundaries. But at this terrible hour, when other nations are being selfish, looking inward, I admit: I am so proud we have our own vaccine, Covaxin. Kisi ke mohtaj nahi hum.

"All that is not shared is lost." - The Rig Veda.

An incredible 7.5 million Indians have been vaccinated today - that's more than one entire New Zealand vaccinated within 9 hours.

Congratulations to everyone involved. But our target should be one Sweden (10 million), not one New Zealand (5 million) a day. We can do it. We must.

Phase three trial results of #COVAXIN now in public domain as a detailed publication. 78% efficacy.

Congratulations to all involved. Covaxin is a fantastic Indian achievement. Be proud of what our scientists have accomplished under extremely trying circumstances.

10 million Indians were vaccinated today - that's more than two entire New Zealands vaccinated within 10 hours. PHENOMENAL. Congratulations to all involved.

Jacinda Ardern, we need you - to come to India and learn how to do it. Only 22% of New Zealanders are fully vaccinated.

Wait, what. 12.2 million vaccinated in 6 hours and more than half a day still to go. Forget New Zealand, we now have in sight vaccinating the equivalent of an Australia today - 25 million.

This is PHENOMENAL. Congratulations to all involved. Congratulations to @narendramodi.

The UK says Indians vaccinated with Covishield will be considered unvaccinated.

This is not only discriminatory, it is scientifically unsound - we follow gold standard GMP & have exported Covishield to a dozen countries including UK.

India MUST retaliate, strongly & swiftly.

The UK when warned with retaliation approved Covishield but now says it won't recognise our vaccine certificates, with the UK High Commissioner claiming "We are STILL TRYING to understand how CoWin works".

UNREAL. Indians are suffering because these bums can't figure out an app.

1 billion doses.

Years from now when they ask what was our one great achievement this past decade, show them this counter.

A request to PM @narendramodi: Nothing less than a Bharat Ratna for our health professionals collective for this spectacular achievement against all odds.

No doubt about it - administration of 1 billion vaccine doses within 10 months is a phenomenal achievement. My congratulations to all involved esp our health workers.

My views on @TimesNow with @RShivshankar, on this and the way forward viz Delta variant.
