NUG’s Foreign Minster @zinmaraung1976 responded to @ASEAN Summit “consensus”. She says there’s no need to wait and see whether MAH will implement the points. Enough lessons learned since 1988 that dictators say one thing & do another in country. Fact. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar

Interview with VOA Burmese on the question of the next steps if ASEAN's actions are not effective:
DZMA: The movement inside develops organically with strong determination from the people to end the cycle of military regimes. People and NUG will have to fight our own battle and..

..everyone is also expressing their will. Important to be stronger & more united now. From the geopolitics perspective, the development which stems from the democratic transition if succeeded will bring benefits to the neighbours which we will engage with them to emphasize that."

Question on dialogue with ASEAN Envoy:
"SAC needs to take care of their bloodstained hands first. We will listen to the people's voices on the dialogue, currently, it is not possible & we don't have a plan to talk to those who are committing atrocities on the people repeatedly..

..we accept political solutions require dialogue, however, SAC must first remove their leaders and the perpetrators of these crimes and show that they are committed to democracy & have the mindset to walk towards the same goal as the people of all ethnic groups..then we can talk"

Q: What's ASEAN's stand on NUG?
DZMA: We understand ASEAN accept that NUG was formed by the elected lawmakers given the mandate by the people in the 2020 elections and they will continue to listen to our voices. In contact with ASEAN Parliamentary Group and elected MPs ..

..ASEAN can't deny our legitimacy, our existence and the mandate. They also cannot legitimise the SAC. However difficult to accept us as a normal government, the legitimacy is on our side. Without including us in any dialogue, it will be difficult for ASEAN."

Q: Some analyse ASEAN Summit gave a breather to MAH..
DZMA: SAC leader will not attend the summit without some kind of benefit. He repeatedly rejected to meet those who will tell them the truth and pressure them but he went to Jarkarta because he hoped there will be an exit..

..we appreciate the individual responses from Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia and other active leaders. However, the consensus is not concrete & could not provide definitive answers that Myanmar people want. Suggestions for dialogue with terrorists like SAC, we see delay tactics."
