The 2018 Nigeria Defence Posture Review saw the Nigerian military's
formal adoption of smart firepower with extended range. The military understood that when munitions provide first shot accuracy with low collateral damage, mission success and increase greatly

This informed the decision to replace frontline weapons with an entirely new class of weapons system. For the NAF the Alpha jet and F-7Ni fighter replaced with the A-29 Super Tucano with PGMs and JF-17 fighters. With the aforementioned aircrafts acting in supporting roles

The NAF Attack Reconnaisance Squadron will consist of Wing Loong II, CH-4 and CH-3B armed attack drones.

The Navy is aquiring a new Frigate to revive its anti-ship fighting capability. Its also aquiring drones, fast attack boats and yesterday took delivery of a Special Mission aircraft.

The Navy aquired two classes of drones. One of which is the RemoEye 002B manufactured by South Koreas Uconsystems. It has a wingspan of 1.8 metres, top speed of 80km/h and a range of 10km. It has an infrared camera/electroo-optical payload.

For the army the VT-4s, ST-I fire support vehicles and eight wheeled 105mm self propelled artillery have been instrumental in decimating the ranks of the insurgents. The Army Aviation Corp is in the works.
