1/ In the Bolsonaro Speech 9 days ago he said he suspected the 'Virus' was a cover for “chemical, bacterial, and radiological warfare”. See elements thread below. Good time to take a look at ionising radiation with @PantheraSteven? breitbart.com/latin-america/…

2/ Two types of radiation, one being non-ionising (the pole type), considered less harmful (non harmful by some) that we are exposed to regularly each day (not the subject of this thread), then we have Ionising, Nuclear facility/military fallout from tests/accidents...

3/ or from radiotherapy/xrays. See this very interesting video on the Fukushima incident for details on the types of particulates that might be found in an event of this kind. Note that he mentions that on the US west coast ...

4/ for example you may find just the odd irradiated particle here or there, not necessarily in significant quantities and this was in 2013, 2 years after the accident, applying perspective on fallout spread. This model from 2011 shows...

5/ we have probably already been exposed some time ago to the aerosol particles. The half-lives of irradiated particulates vary radically. (see article and chart below) So what are the symptoms of exposure to irradiated particulates/ionised radiation? thoughtco.com/list-of-radioa…

6/ There are, as with everything, ranges of exposure to consider. Acute heavy exposure might come from a nuclear accident. Many of you will have seen the series Chernobyl aired for a 2nd time at the beginning of the first lock down. hbo.com/chernobyl The symptoms of this...

7/ type of exposure, if not in the blast radius, as follows. The higher the dose the quicker the symptoms appear. Acute Radiation Syndrome is clearly more life threatening than Chronic Radiation exposure. Merck article here on effects and procedure for ARS merckmanuals.com/professional/i…

8/ Here is a summary of ARS from the CDC. 'Prodromal stage (N-V-D stage): The classic symptoms for this stage are nausea, vomiting, as well as anorexia and possibly diarrhea (depending on dose), which occur from minutes to days following exposure. The symptoms may last...

9/ (episodically) for minutes up to several days.
Latent stage: In this stage, the patient looks and feels generally healthy for a few hours or even up to a few weeks.
Manifest illness stage: In this stage, the symptoms depend on the specific syndrome (see Table 1) ...

10/ and last from hours up to several months.
Recovery or death: Most patients who do not recover will die within several months of exposure. The recovery process lasts from several weeks up to two years.' emergency.cdc.gov/radiation/pdf/… Chart below lists stages/levels for ARS diagnosis.

11/ It is possible to have Acute Low level exposure that does NOT lead to these catastrophic ARS effects. CDC details 5 levels of radiation exposure here. cdc.gov/nceh/radiation… Medical News Today details general symptoms. An interesting list 🤨 medicalnewstoday.com/articles/21961…

12/ Another symptom of Acute exposure is Cutaneous injury. Here are some pictures of various Radiation rashes, the last being Radiation Recall, which is being documented as a phenomenon associated with Covid... pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33677050/ and cureus.com/articles/52839…

13/ What are the protocols that might be put in place for such an event/s? For extremely dangerous events such as nuclear reactor incidents we might see a protocol something like this. This is based on potentially significant contamination. remm.nlm.gov/nuclearacciden…

14/ For more generalised contamination, not associated with a catastrophic event there are more standardised guidelines. This article gives more details. medcom.com/how-to-reduce-…, and this section from the CDC website. cdc.gov/nceh/radiation…

15/ As per many scholarly articles available, we are exposed to levels of radiation every day, and it is possible to take measures to protect ourselves externally and internally. This has been a fascinating thread to write. Thank to @PantheraSteven for your help in researching.

@DrTeckKhong you might find this thread interesting

Footnote: Have a QUIET guess which drug can be used alongside treatment for cancer radiotherapy to protect healthy cells from apoptosis? Shall we guess which mil section BJ handed his stash to? No shouting out 😉

Another couple of tiny foot notes. When a nuclear facility has an accident or a leak, they go in to lockdown. Hand sanitiser is of no use whatsoever. Washing your hands off with soap and water is highly recommended.
