Humza Yousaf & the SNP, Rangers, the Police & the Liberal left commentariat.
A thread.
1. Shortly after Gers title party, a dodgy tik tok video appeared on social media, posted by @wulliewanker
Normal people would've said, 'You lost me at @wulliewanker ', but this is Scotland...

2. .. A nation where an SNP Govt, not content turning neighbour against neighbour with toxic Nationalism, also pick at the nation's sectarian scab through their own prejudice & /or for political gain in a systematic & concerted effort.

3. Regarding the infamous video clip, the Police surprisingly saw fit to post & comment publically on the specifics before establishing the facts. Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf retweeted to increase the publicity- acting as judge jury & executioner. So much for natural justice.

4. Inflicting maximum reputational damage, Yousaf then appeared on BBC Reporting Scotland, & opened with 'I'm disgusted by it' (disgusted by what? Something you don't know even happened?) He went further, 'Its *not sectarian*, its anti catholic'. What? More on this later.

5. Its not often a global football icon graces the Scottish game, but such is their loathing for Rangers, BBC Scotland-who act like Sturgeon's media wing anyway-wont even interview Mr Gerrard after a match, so they were more than happy to run with this story for all it was worth-

6. It was given the main lead, ran for almost 5 minutes, & had Yousaf & also the Asst Chief of Police Scotland on.
BBC Scotland sports correspondent Chris McLaughlin then appeared salivating over 'the potential for huge damage & embarrassment to the club'. Indeed Chris. Indeed...

7. ... & in case you missed it, BBC Scotland ran it again on 'The Nine'. Hilariously, if it wasn't so serious, they even had PIRA apologist Jeanette Findlay on to complain about sectarianism...

8. When Police Scotland eventually concluded @wulliewanker was fake news 4 days later, in true impartial style, BBC Reporting Scotland didn't mention this in their headlines. It was buried half way through the programme, & given 20 seconds...

9. They didn't even mention the club's statement re legal action (massive news, but there we go..) As for Chris who was all over the story, he was off. He'd fled the scene. But the damage, sorry, 'huge damage', was done. A hatchet job if ever there was one. An SNP/BBC joint op.

10. It is to the nation's shame, that a group of young diverse ethnic minority footballers had their reputations dragged through the mud, because they played for the *wrong club* in 'all inclusive' SNP Scotland
The front pages were full of it
I suspect this was the desired effect

11. The comments from journos & politicians alike were ridiculous. They were all over this like a pigeon on a chip. Some even admitted they couldn't hear what was claimed, but went on to say how terrible it was (if it was true). What???

12. The old line- a lie is half way round the world before the truth has its boots on, stands up on this occasion. Especially when social media is used as a tool by ruthless & shameless politicians & commentators
Going by this morning's front pages, you'd never know it
Tumbleweed

13. Yousaf, & the SNP are masters of the dark arts. They know how to use the media, especially a complicit one, to maximum devastating effect. This appears to be a clear & orchestrated attempt to tarnish & alienate a club, & vilify its players, regardless of facts.
It is SHAMEFUL

14. Why the Police went public with specific comment before establishing the facts only they know. Were they pressurised by Yousaf /Scot Govt?..
We saw how they were used as pawns at Kenmure St when the SNP engaged in political gamesmanship...

15. We also saw how the Crown Office was used to do Sturgeon's bidding during the Salmond Inquiry, threatening Salmond, MSP's & elements of the media not towing the party line👇
Questions need to be asked by MSP's, Journos using FOI etc. Were the Police pushed into going public?

16. In response & to his credit, the Shadow Justice Minister @jamiegreeneUK absolutely nails it.
Yousaf should be reducing tensions, not stoking them up based on fake videos. It's absolutely astonishing actually. Or maybe it isn't..

17. As John McLellan alludes to in his piece for the Scotsman👇, Rangers (who no doubt have some fans who want independence, some might not even care, & many don't even live in Scotland) are a club with large pro UK fan base, & they seem to be singled out for special treatment..

18... Going back to Yousaf on BBC Scotland, he said 'it's not sectarian, it's anti catholic'. What does that mean? Can you only be a victim (or indeed an offender) when it suits the SNP's agenda? This gets more sinister when you see the messaging from SNP MSP's👇Its a strategy..

19. It also explains why Yousaf & the SNP in general rarely if ever condemn sectarianism from a demographic worth many votes. Orange halls targeted, sectarian songs banners & effigies👇all go without comment because it doesnt suit the narrative...

20. As mentioned, the SNP have allies in this onslaught from the liberal left-wing commentariat, who love nothing better than to wring their hands furiously at those knuckle draggers in blue & white scarves. The dehumanisation is off the scale👇...

21. Without question, some of the scenes last weekend were sickening, particularly the attacks on the Police, but it *was* a minority responsible for the worst of it.
That said, the way it was reported you'd have thought Glasgow resembled Dresden circa 1945. Spoiler. It didn't.

22. Our old friends at BBC Scotland spoke of shop keepers coming in to 'the scars from the night before'.. I'm not even sure a shop was damaged, but there you go. We had 'Doctors' talking of fatalities...

23. We had accounts from 'paramedics' that dont exist, vilifying Gers fans live on the radio, the same stuff then going to print! Radio Clyde have still not addressed this, but maybe it doesnt suit their narrative either after their head of news set the scene on Friday night-

24. Of course there was unacceptable behaviour, but facts matter. Truth matters
Any sectarian language or singing is to be condemned, but I've yet to see any footage that would reflect need for the relentless & systematic onslaught pushed by the SNP & others with their own agenda

25. It carried on the rest of the week, unsubstantiated stories of places of worship, attacked, church goers abused, one story was even rebuked by the church named in the article👇(For the record, if & where any such behaviour *did* happen, I condemn it utterly)
Cont'd..

26. We then had the shocking fire incident at the house of Celtic chief Peter Lawwell, again, this was jumped on, by journos in well established newspapers..
What on earth???!

27. The liberal left say Rangers fans are worse. It is a false perception they create themselves, a self fulfilling prophesy (Did we see images of the Police officers injured at Celtic Park?...)
Both clubs have an anti social element -

28. I could be here *all* night citing examples of Celtic fans, incidents in Glasgow, elsewhere in Scotland, & abroad. Its not whataboutery, its about highlighting the ludicrous double standards from certain journos & politicians such as James Dornan👇Its about nailing the myth.

29. Does anyone *seriously* think if Celtic had won the 10 Glasgow would've been any different last weekend?..
Until all stakeholders treat all anti social thuggery, sectarianism & all the rest of it with equal vigour, things will get worse before they get better.

30. Some will feel empowered, others will adopt a siege mentality-a good piece from John McLellan👇
Meantime, I have NO shame Mr Yousaf, I'll be cheering on the Gers the first chance I get, & I'll be wearing my scarf with pride!
C'mon the Rangers!

31. Thanks to all who supported this thread, it is much appreciated👍. As Yousaf is doubling down👇, a Columbo post is required- How can he justify 'calling out' something that never happened?
He's not just an idiot, he's a dangerous idiot, & his incendiary rhetoric has to stop.
