Democrats are all suddenly against the filibuster. For one very apparent reason...
They suddenly oppose the filibuster because they think they no longer need it.
The filibuster is a tool used by the minority to fight total power by the majority. Democrats intend to remain in power from here on out, and the filibuster threatens total power.
Democrats have used the filibuster many times against majorities in the past. But now, they aren't even planning for a future where they are not in power and might have to use the filibuster.
It's like they don't even remember Wendy Davis in Texas, and how powerful she was able to speak truth to power in her little pink tennis shoes as she stood up for abortion against a majority in the Texas State Senate.
There are so many more just like this. The filibuster must be destroyed or America will lay in tattered, smoking ruins. But only because it threatens the Democrats' absolute power, and they do not intend to relinquish it again.
