🧵Naftali Bennett may in the next few days replace Netanyahu as Prime Minister. As this is being widely applauded, even on the left, here are some choice Bennett quotes to give you pause:

2013: “I’ve killed many Arabs in my life and there’s no problem with that”

2016: “We [Jews] must give our lives" to annex the West Bank to Israel.”

This quote evokes the Kahanist (Jewish KKK) ideology that violence & terrorism should be used to secure Israel as an etho-nationalist state. For context/history, see my previous thread👇🏼

Exact 2016 quote: “On the matter of the Land of Israel, we have to move from holding action to a decision. We have to mark the dream, and the dream is that Judea and Samaria will be part of the sovereign State of Israel. We have to act today, and WE MUST GIVE OUR LIVES.”

2013: The Green Line “had no meaning. Only a “friyer” (sucker) would think otherwise... “There will never be a peace plan with the Palestinians... I will do everything in my power to see that they never get a state... No illusions.”

2012: "Judaism doesn’t recognize gay marriage, just as we don't recognize milk and meat together as kosher and nothing will change it."

Bennett uses his adherence to Orthodox Judaism, to oppose same-sex marriage in Israel

In response to the 11 day massacre Netanyahu just carried out in Gaza, killing around 150 Palestinians, Bennett criticized Netanyahu for not acting violently enough.

Also, meet @Ayelet__Shaked. She’s Bennett’s political partner and number two. Shaked has argued that Palestinian mothers should be killed lest they be able to birth more “little snakes.”
