AUSTRIA 🇦🇹

Schlager

Lainer - Dragovic - Hinteregger - Ulmer/Alaba

Grillitsch - Baumgartlinger

Arnautovic - Sabitzer - Alaba/Baumgartner

Kalajdzic

DEFENCE: Austria aren’t coming into #EURO2020 in the best defensive form, but a MD1 game against NM 🇲🇰 is good for their clean sheet hopes. I’d look to 4.5 defenders Lainer and Hinteregger, who both possess some attacking threat. I slightly favour Lainer for his assist potential

MIDFIELD: Sabitzer (8.0) is the main man, but be warned, the availability of both Arnautovic and Kalajdzic means that Sabi could be utilised in a deeper role. One to watch. Baumgartner, if fit, represents value at 7.0, but he missed the end of the season through injury

ATTACK: Kalajdzic (7.5) enjoyed a breakthrough season in the Bundesliga with 16 goals, and has also netted 3 in his last 3 for Austria. Arnautovic (7.0) has had limited minutes due to travel restrictions, but should slot straight back in here. Both great value for your MD1 team!

Whilst we’re here, I’d like to draw your attention to @fpl_austria’s brilliant in-depth look at the team’s prospects from a #EuroFantasy perspective. Well worth a read if you’re thinking of investing!

NETHERLANDS 🇳🇱

Krul

Dumphries - de Ligt - Blind - Wijndal

Wijnaldum - Klaassen - F. de Jong

Berghuis - L. de Jong - Depay

de Ligt (5.5) is the key man in defence, however I’d sooner look to 4.5 left back Wijndal, who’s managed 3 assists in his last 5 appearances for the national team, and looks to be preferred to van Aanholt in the LB slot

MIDFIELD: intriguing options here. Wijnaldum (8.0) is more offensive for his country, with 4g/1a in his last 5. Klaassen looks top value at 5.5, with a goal & 2 assists in his last 3 caps, along with 12 goals in 29 appearances for Ajax. Berghuis (7.0) also has 2g/2a in his last 4

ATTACK: Depay (10.0) is proving a popular choice, and with good reason. He’s recorded an incredible 23 goals and 22 assists in 62 caps, plus 20 goals and 12 assists at club level this season. Elsewhere, Luuk de Jong (7.5) is flying under the radar, with 3 in his last 3 for Oranje

NORTH MACEDONIA 🇲🇰

Dimitrievski

Velkovski - Musliu - Ristevski

Ristovski - Spirovski - Bardhi - Elmas - Alioski

Pandev - Trajkovski

DEFENCE: Alioski (4.5) is an intriguing MD1 pick due to his potentially high ceiling - he’s on pens, and is given plenty of licence to get forward, recently picking up an assist against Romania. We also have a potential 4.0 starter in Ristovski, if you’re in need of extra funds

MIDFIELD: Elmas (6.0) has 2 goals and an assist in his last 5, including a famous 85th minute winner against Germany in NM’s final qualifying game. Teammate Bardhi (6.0) also has a goal and 2 assists in his last 3

ATTACK: veteran striker Pandev (6.5) is still leading the line and still scoring important goals for his country at 37, opening the scoring in the remarkable win over Germany. Trajkovski (7.0) partners him and has 3 in his last 3. NM 🇲🇰 face a tough test, but could surprise a few

UKRAINE 🇺🇦

Bushchan/Trubin

Karavaev - Zabarnyi - Matviyenko - Krivstov - Mykolenko

Makarenko

Malinovsky - Shaparenko/Yarmolenko - Zinchenko

Yaremchuk

DEFENCE: Ukraine have been tough to break down, & you could look to one of their 4.5 options, but – even at 5.5 – Zinchenko is an intriguing option due to the nature of his role in the team - he is usually deployed as an attacking midfielder, despite his defensive classification

MIDFIELD: captain Yarmolenko (8.5) has seen limited minutes due fitness issues. Malinovskyi (7.0) could be a better bet; he’ll be hoping that his impressive haul of 8 goals and 12 assists for Atalanta last season can translate to the international stage this summer

ATTACK: Yaremchuk (7.0) is another who will be hoping to replicate his club form at #EURO2020 following his 22 goals for Gent last season. Like all his teammates though, he’s been struggling for goals at int’l level, so is probably a wait and see, particularly with NED 🇳🇱 in MD1

MAIN TAKEAWAYS FROM GROUP C: Austria 🇦🇹 have their strongest team in a while, and I think Kalajdzic and Arnautovic are both great prospects at 7.5 and 7.0 respectively. The value in the Dutch midfield looks great too - a strong case can be made for Wijnaldum, Klaassen or Berghuis
