Dr. Price, "Great to hear. That is part of their role."

Dr. Price continues, "I've happened to read Eli's presentation and his last bullet of ambassadors has 300 instead of 500, was that a mistake or a new goal?"

Navigator Program: Upcoming Events

Program Coordinator Eli Stacy takes questions from the board.

Dr. Monyka Price, "I wonder just what else can we do to reach other families. That is a tuck it away [question].

Dr. Price,

"Navigators [are] sounding a lot like a Family Support Specialist. ... Can we make an intentional collaboration to reconnect with Family Support Specialists in the Schools, trauma, coaches, in the Rec Center, and their County counterparts?"

Ann Mullin shares, "I am nervous about folks we don't pay too much [to have this role as pseudo Family Support Specialists] and agree with Monica."

Executive Director Marnecheck responds,

"For the schools that have a Family Support Specialists typically they are the first person we contact. But not all schools have the specialists. ... We will not fail our families."

Erin Randel asks, "What triggers a call being made?"

Program Coordinator Stacy responds,

"The attempted is from the Surveys. I've asked Navigators to ask for referrals from the families we've assisted."

Erin Randel asks, "What is the universe of children in CMSD? Without context, it is hard to tell if this is an effective program. ... What is the raw number of families with school children in CMSD? ... Can we get an idea of which groups are in a choice base in any given year?"

Mrs. Randel continues, "If we have about 2,000 in a graduating class then we know there's about that many in a transition phase. ... We're the best to advocate choosing Public Schools. ... I'm not sure we are keeping an eye on the ball of who the universe if for this work."

Helen Williams responds,

"The Navigator Program is about helping families who need help."

Mrs. Williams shares an experience with a family that she recommended to the Navigators Program.

There is more than 20 people in attendance.

Executive Director Marnecheck,

"Agreed. I agree with both comments. We've got about 30,000 in the district, about 14,000 in chartered schools, and the balance is somewhere in between. These numbers aren't great but we are helping those families."

Executive Director Marnecheck continues,

"For better or worse we don't have that data. We have the number of ambassadors and working with that pool."

Executive Director Marnecheck turns the conversation to Lori & the ACS Team.

Lori of the Advocacy Communication Solutions (ACS) Team is live, "I will go through this faster."
