Last Friday (6/11), Indonesia National Team finished their campaign in the 2022 FIFA World Cup/ 2023 AFC Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

As we're all aware, we ended dead-last in the table with worst GS, GC, and GD records in the group

Here's how we did in the qualifiers

Using data powered by @labbola, I've compiled some numbers from the NT's performances in the qualifiers. Here are some of those..

#TimnasStats

Here's the team's overall stats from 8 matches. 3 managers took part handling the team (McMenemy, Yeyen, and Shin). Poor numbers of Attempts On Target, Ball Possession Average, and Possessions Lost produced poor results.

#TimnasStats

We conceded 27 times in 8 matches (more than 3 goals per-90 mins.). Most of them came from Open Plays.

#TimnasStats

Breaking down the times we conceded into 15-minutes interval, evidently our performance were getting worst in the 2nd half. As if there were no development of tactics and strategies during half time.

Detailed into the schemes of how we conceded, most of our defensive homework is to anticipate opponents' crossing attempts. Coordination in the defensive line must be improved.

#TimnasStats

In 8 matches, we had 5 different GKs played between our posts. Interestingly, Riyandi made more saves in a match than the other senior GKs, on his senior debut as well!

We were never the dominant team throughout the qualifiers. We let the opponent took control of the flow of play. 🇹🇭 and 🇦🇪 got us cornered in both matches. While 🇻🇳 reduced their intensity following a comfortable 3-0 lead after 60 minutes when we hosted them.

#TimnasStats

Our passing accuracy is no better. We often struggled when facing opponent's pressure, which led to poor decision-making and inaccurate passes.

#TimnasStats

Fewer possession and substandard passing accuracy led to poor shooting attempts. We only made more shots on target than our opponent when we played 🇲🇾 in Bukit Jalil. However, we still failed to score.

On a positive note, our squad is getting younger. Coach Shin gave opportunity to the youngsters who surely need more experience. Beto (38.8) is our oldest and Pratama Arhan (19.5) is our youngest.

Evan Dimas @Evan_DD is our player with most appearances and playing minutes. He still have rooms for improvement. With proper training regime and playing times, he'll eventually get to his best performance.

At the moment, our closest competitive agenda is the 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualification - Play-off Round, which is scheduled to be played on Sep 2 and 7.

Pretty please, @PSSI, let the experience in the previous qualifiers become a *valuable lesson* to the organization, the team, the staffs, and the players 🙏
