Many readers* have asked me why I don't feature more mountain-based choose your own adventure books on this account?

Well your day has come! Here's my Top 10 peak picks...

(*none as yet)

At #10: Caverns of the Snow Witch! Dare YOU enter this nightclub?

At #9: Light on Quests Mountain! I think you have to put them out in sequence to win a prize.

At #8: The Abominable Snowman! The start of a mighty franchise, though he looks more sullen then abominable...

At #7: Return to Firetop Mountain! Some of us never left: that bloody Maze of Zagor...

At #6: Mountain Survival! If it's good enough for the Neat Wheat Gang* then it's good enough for me.

(*in Britain we enjoy thuggery for breakast. Viddy well droogs...)

At #5: Proteus: Boneshaker's Mountains of Forever! This did go on...

At #4: Mountain of Mirrors! This was a brave stab at a Dungeons & Disco book, though the idea never caught on.

At #3: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain! Not #1 because I don't forgive the Maze of Zagor so easily...

At #2: Freeway Warrior: Slaughter Mountain Run! That's the good stuff right there...

And at #1: The Cats of Castle Mountain! Imagine trying to get cats to actually do something useful!!

More Proustian rushes of mis-spent youth another time...
