@OurWorldInData @Nature @80000Hours @robertwiblin @MaxCRoser @MaxCRoser, I think it is ironic that you discussed how poorly "we counted" (by which you mean that OTHER people counted), when the @OurWorldInData team doesn't actually seem to know what what the word "counted" means.
@OurWorldInData @Nature @80000Hours @robertwiblin @MaxCRoser Will you please rewrite this gibberish into intelligible, unambiguous English?
ourworldindata.org/grapher/covid-…
"COVID-19 vaccine doses administered per 100 people"
@OurWorldInData @Nature @80000Hours @robertwiblin @MaxCRoser "Total number of vaccination doses administered per 100 people in the total population. This [WHAT?] is counted as a single dose, and may not equal the total number of people vaccinated, depending on the specific dose regime (e.g. people receive multiple doses)."
…makes no sense
@OurWorldInData @Nature @80000Hours @robertwiblin @MaxCRoser "Counted as" does NOT mean "is."
"Counted AS a single..." means you're counting multiples. I don't think that's what you really mean!
@OurWorldInData @Nature @80000Hours @robertwiblin @MaxCRoser If you mean that EACH jab is counted, then say so! E.g., say something clear and non-contradictory, like, "Each dose of a multiple-dose regime is counted, making the number of doses (which is shown in the graph) greater than the number of people vaccinated."
@OurWorldInData @Nature @80000Hours @robertwiblin @MaxCRoser If you mean that two jabs of a two-dose regime are counted as "one dose" in this graph, then don't call it "doses," because the word "doses" has a particular meaning, which you're not at liberty to change. Call it something else, like "vaccinations."
