@leafwax wrote, "anyone (I mean anyone!) could read the draft and submit comments."

That's a untrue. I'm an expert reviewer, and we had to agree to keep the drafts secret before we could have access.

I've received NO responses to ANY of my comments on EITHER draft.

@leafwax 2/15
It's been more than a year for the SOD, more than two years for the FOD, and I've STILL received NO responses to any of my comments on either draft.

Come on, admit it: IPCC "expert review" is a sham. It does not resemble real expert review.

It's also a deceptive to claim you didn't get paid to work on AR5. You got paid an Associate Professor's salary by the University of Arizona. One of the joys of the academy is lots of flexibility in what you choose to work on. Don't pretend it's unpaid work.

@leafwax The IPCC's process was thoroughly corrupt seventeen years ago, and it is still corrupt today.

The scientific evidence is compelling that manmade climate change is modest and benign, and CO2 emissions are beneficial, rather than harmful.

Here are some relevant papers.

I try to help improve IPCC Reports, but that doesn't blind me to their flaws. They largely ignore the enormous proven & measured benefits of eCO2, established by more than a century of rigorous science, and they wildly exaggerate hypothetical harms.

@leafwax 7/15
Nearly everyone writing those reports has a conflict of interest. Their careers are built on climate alarmism. They're as likely to admit the parasitic climate industry does more harm than good as were tobacco executives in the 1950s to admit their products were harmful.

Here's what manmade climate changes is REALLY doing. This is what you are campaigning against:

Rising CO2 levels improve crop yields and drought resistance. That's helping make famines rare for the first time in history.

If you're so young you don't understand how important that is, count yourself blessed! Famine used to be a scourge comparable to war & disease.

@leafwax 13/15
Ending famine is a VERY Big Deal, comparable to ending war and disease. Compare:

● 1918 flu pandemic killed 2% of world population.

● WWII killed 2.7% of world population.

● The global drought & famine of 1876-78 killed 3.7% of world population.

@leafwax 14/15
When I was a child, horrific famines were often in the news, in places like Bangladesh. But Bangladesh and India now have food surpluses, every year. Rising CO2 level is one of the reasons for that.

Food gluts are a MUCH better problem than famines!

Come on over from the Dark Side, Jessica. If you stop promoting unscientific climate alarmism, you might not get invited to as many parties, but you will sleep better, with a clear conscience.
