Many families told me - the only thing they managed to take out were a pair of clothes. In many ways, this is what happened during the civil war days of the 90’s when people couldn’t take anything on their journey
Some Kabul residents brought shoes and clothings. Others offered their homes. But government was no where to be seen so far, people complained about lack of shelter and sanitation.
This farmer told me his mung bean harvest was hit with mortars and he lost his harvest. Kundoz is the breadbasket of Northern Afghanistan, known for cotton, rice 🍚 , melon 🍈 and water melon 🍉
