Let's counter the "dirty irredeemable unjabbed red states are causing all our problems" BS narrative with a wee bit of data shall we? Looking at Rt values (the Effective Reproduction Rate: <1.0=infections fizzling out, >1.0 = infections increasing). Higher value = more spread.

This data is available to all courtesy of covidestim.org. Note that downward trending curves, even if now > 1.0, mean the wave will be fizzling soon.

First, the media and the White House's bogeyman, Ron DeSantis' FL. They are so terrified of DeSantis you can taste it. Apparently so is the virus. Rt 0.97, plummeting.

Next, red evil-doers Mississippi and Missouri. Rt 1.11 and 0.91, and rocketing downwards.

How about Texas and Utah? TX Rt=1.22 (thanks border) but plummeting, and Utah ("hospitals are full! 🤡) a measly Rt=0.87.

Now let's look at a Red vs "super jabbed Blue" smackdown: Oklahoma (Rt=0.97 look out below) vs oh so virtuous Oregon (Rt=1.46, just curling over). Doesn't look great Oregon. Mask harder! Jab harder!

While we're in the Pac NW, another paragon of blue masky/jabby virtue, Washington State. Ouch. Rt=1.88 and reaching escape velocity.

Or how about Witmer's gulag, Michigan? The virus is not amused. Rt=1.63, also reaching escape velocity.

Point is, vx status, mask rules, politics, don't make a damn bit of difference. Any outlets/pundits trying to blame/shame certain states based on their policies are beclowning themselves. It just doesn't matter folks. Of course we can cherry pick +- examples on either side. ->

Just like the MSM, which of course only cherry picks in one direction. Bottom line, virus gonna virus. Deal with it.
