The strategy deployed by many is just to say "We're not against Hindus, we're only against [insert politics]"
The reality is, Hindus accept a difference of opinion when it comes to politics. Hindu students do not get offended if individuals criticize Indian politics.
However, using Indian politics as a smokescreen to further Hinduphobia is unacceptable.

@project_polis here desecrates Hindu religious symbols to draw parallels between Hindus and Nazis
@Students_A_H launched an attack on Hindu religious festivals on college campuses to further political objectives.

@hitchtheory calls Hindu American students who respectfully disagreed with Truschke's Hinduphobic tweets were labelled "BJP dogs"
@dghconference denies Hinduphobia, and quotes a known Hinduphobe to prove their point (🤦🏾♀️)
How many of these examples were genuine criticisms of the Indian government and political parties? None.
THIS is Hinduphobia. Nothing else.
Of course, Hindu American Scholars nail it! 😉
How can you criticize? Simple!
1. Don't tie political disagreements to Hinduism
2. Stop calling students "Hindu supremacists" when we disagree
3. Stop denying Hinduphobia. Attempting to *bully* Hindu American students will not work. We are stronger than that.
