I can't believe this is true, but it is. One of my favorite actors left us

Michael K. Williams was SO talented. He was fantastic in The Wire of course & in everything he's done after (Boardwalk Empire, Lovecraft Country, etc).

The only time he almost worked on space fiction...

...it was to play (in motion capture) the evil Dryden Vos in Solo (2018). Sadly he couldn't be available for the reshoot with Ron Howard, and was replaced by Paul Bettany.

He was 54.

My thoughts to his family, friends and close ones. He was an amazing actor. Amazing.

Here are 4 concept art for the original, Michael K. Williams "MOCAP" version of Dryden Vos. Yes, even a Lasat like Zeb in SW Rebels.

(Sorry, making these trivial tweets is my way to cope.)

Art by @JakeLuntDavies & Ivan Manzella.

@JakeLuntDavies Four more by Ivan Manzella & Louis Wiltshire.

And more in The Art of Solo.

@JakeLuntDavies “There are some things in life, you just gotta laugh at it. That was such an odd turn of events. (...) What are the odds of that happening? There comes a point, you just gotta throw your hands up and, you know what, it just wasn’t meant to be.”

@JakeLuntDavies “What saddens me most is I was very proud of the work that I did. (...) We was on the spaceship, and we all had these amazing scenes together, and I thought it was a great opportunity, and I thought it was some great stuff. It’s unfortunate the world won’t get to see it."

@JakeLuntDavies “Even though I didn’t make the final cut, they’re still my cast mates. I love you guys.”

And I still hoped he'll play in a future Star Wars thing. Anything. Because I really think he was one of the greatest actor of this era.

I'll miss him.

@JakeLuntDavies He played my favorite character in my favorite TV series ever. For which he was nominated at NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series.

Thank you, Michael. Your talent will not be forgotten.
