Listen y'all, it's been a long week so I'm going to just cut directly to the chase here: The Matrix: Resurrections finally has its first trailer, and...just watch it.
The highly-anticipated new installment in the Matrix franchise still follows Neo (Keanu Reeves), who appears to be back to his old ways, once again going by the name "Thomas Anderson."
While speaking to a gentleman who appears to be his therapist (Neil Patrick Harris), Neo muses that he's "had dreams that weren’t just dreams."
Shortly after, we get another familiar face when Neo runs into Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) at a coffee shop, who seems to have no recollection of their past history together.
Things escalate quickly after a still-unnamed character* (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) once again offers Neo the iconic red pill and ~down the rabbit hole~ he goes.
*Yahya's character's identity has yet to be revealed, but it's hard to deny who those tiny glasses are reminding us of!
After some action and incredible visuals, the trailer ends with another short conversation, this time with a different gentleman (Jonathan Groff) who does the thing! He says the title of the movie!!!
Like...Y'ALL! Keanu? Yahya?! Someone's clearly been reading my diary!!! I've got to get a better lock for that thing.
The action sequences! The beautiful direction! The shot composition! The positively sick use of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit!" It! All! Looks! Unbelievable!
