This poor little guy got stuck in an insanely strong web

Not sure how to get the web off without damaging his wing

He was so scared after I pulled him off that he walked across the yard and climbed up my leg

Finally put him on the table. He has been there for about 20 minutes. Can still walk but can’t fly

Going to put out some grapefruit for him. If anyone has any tips on how to deal with the web being attached to the wing in a safe/easy way that doesn’t break it, please let me know

Put out some grapefruit for him and squeezed it so he can drink the juice (idk what moths eat; internet recommended fruit if flowers aren’t available)

Better view of the wing. Probably going to try water to start. Nervous about using chemicals, but little fella has to survive rain, so he should be able to get wet without issue

Tried tweezers and water, to no avail

He clearly trusts me, but don't know how to help him

Tried damp paper towel and that didn't work.

GM suggested to give him an hour or two to recover from the trauma and then try again with a damp q-tip

Cleared off most of the web from the bottom of his wing. Making progress on the middle of his wing where it’s crimped.

Finished cleaning the web

He’s still chilling on my hand. Waiting for him to do a test flight

Letting him stay the night to recover

He won't leave me alone now; guess I found a new work buddy for the time being

Tried sugar water & grapefruit yesterday. Tried veggies last night. Tried fresh leaves this morning

Going to try a hummingbird feeder with solution next chameleonforums.com/blogs/hornworm…

he started testing his wings finally...

...and then this happened

LFG 😤

Now that he can fly again, he's opting to chill on my hand 😂

Hummingbird nectar acquired (poured some in feeder and on his leaf)

He slept in the bathroom again last night. Flew three times this morning (twice inside & once outside)

Would post outdoor flight video but it shows neighbors’ houses

He got significant vertical this AM (~20ft in air). Afterwards, he landed and let me pick him up again
