Plea hearing set for 2 p.m. for Jan. 6 defendant Andrew Hatley, who posed with a statue of white supremacist John Calhoun inside the Capitol crypt.

Hatley's case was tied up in a bow thanks to a search warrant return from his Life360 account.

"When HATLEY was asked about the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, HATLEY advised he was not sure how much he should say without legal counsel because he could be in a great deal of trouble.” storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…

Hatley, 34, tells the judge he went to high school and then trucking school. He will enter a guilty plea to the parading / demonstrating / picketing misdemeanor charge.

“This seems to be the least bad option available,” he tells the judge.

Hatley says he appreciates the government making an offer that allows him to continue to work.

“My job is all I have,” Hatley says. Says he’s “very satisfied” with his attorney.

“He’s not a tourist,” says Judge Thomas F. Hogan. Judges really don’t like the tourist claim, as @ZoeTillman has reported: buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…

Hogan has accepted Hatley’s guilty plea. Sets sentencing for 10 a.m. on December 16.
