The archetypal product growth examples are outdated

Dropbox is not growing that fast anymore. Uber, Docusign, and Zoom are growing a lot through sales & marketing as well

Product rockets πŸš€, a 🧡

Every product person has heard it in their job: X competitor has released X feature. We should too!

But how do we know what companies are actually growing through product NOW?

I propose revenue growth rate & product : sales & marketing spend as two metrics.

So, I got together companies:
- Most written about: Airbnb, Ube, & Dropbox
- Buzzy growers: Robinhood, Atlassian, Snowflake, Square & Shopify
- Focused mid-caps: Snap, Datadog, Docusign, Servicenow & Zoom
- Mega-caps: Alibaba, Microsoft, Google & Facebook
- The original: PayPal

The results look pretty good!

The top companies seem to have released a ton of features recently to drive product growth

@RobinhoodApp, @Snapchat, @Airbnb, @datadoghq, @Facebook

I would contend THESE are the companies that founders and product managers should be paying attention to. Not XYZ splashy competitor. To build growth into our products, these are the companies we can look to, to see how they did it.

These are the Teslas in your industry.

Founders, product managers, and product designers & engineers need a way to identify companies that are actually growing through product NOW
